// Not supposed to be growable this far north, the very rare Cardiocrinum survived -40C last winter unscathed. Hailing from Japan, where it grows in moist woodlands, this is a northerly, robust form of the species. The spectacular, large heart-shaped leaves emerge dramatically mottled copper-red, fading to medium green as the season progresses. Huge 15cm trumpets emerge in August, cream tinted green, with interior maroon dotting and a yellow base. Worth every effort to grow!
Germination Instructions: Seeds have been moist packed since harvest. //
